I'm sure that O knew all along that circumstances directed most of Bush's military decisions. Even the war in Iraq was conceived during a time when nearly every world leader believed that Iraq had WMDs. Not going to war with Iraq would have been a dangerous decision on Bush's part. It's the same decision that we now face with Iran.
Conducting the war is where Bush and his staff failed miserably.
O (like Bush) has few options militarily. He can roll the die and confront terror in a Clinton era fashion and wait for the next 9-11 or he can follow the path that Bush has followed which has prevented a major attack on the US since 9-11... jeopardizing civil liberties.
What's happening in the financial markets is just as much a threat to our liberty. It looks as though there is a determined effort to destroy the dollar. And of course borrowing money to cover debt is always a good policy.
